Littlestown, PA — Family and friends lined up Saturday to say their final goodbyes to Connor Goonan, who lost his battle to cancer.
He also admired Batman.
“What really meant a lot to me with Connor was that his parents told me that the day he got that Batmobile ride, they said that was the last day that they captured a really solid smile and laugh from him right before his decline” said John Buckland, who plays Batman with the organization.
Buckland says that Connor was the real hero of the story.
“The one thing that they all say is that Connor taught us how to fight. Connor teaches us how not to be a quitter.”
Connor’s younger brother Daniel rode with Batman to help lay him in his final resting place, which happened to be a custom-made superhero casket.
Connor had followed in his father’s footsteps and earned his black belt in karate.
